Have you ever experienced a problem like hang on your operating system? I use Windows 7 Ultimate OS and I protect that by password. At the first time, I got no problem, but one day I tried to switch on my laptop, and then, I fill the password on the login page, and after that, I feel that there is something wrong occurs. The Windows loading goes so long and it won’t come to desktop, and moreover, the indicator light for the Windows process also doesn’t work in a periodic time as usual. I try to shut down the PC and restart it, I found that there is something wrong which occurs similarly with the problem above. And I got so confused. By using my mobile phone, I try to ask Google, for some moment when I am surfing, I found the source of that error. I found it on its Windows OS.
There is something wrong in the Windows log file and it also can affect the startup system which is too busy to process other unimportant service during the startup. The solution for this problem is by updating the Windows service pack which has been explained in the Microsoft support as follows: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228 and this update can minimize the startup when the system is in booting.
Another problem appears when I realize, how I could update if I can’t login into my PC. To solve this problem, you can login into your PC via safe mode.
How to access the safe mode? It’s easy, when your Windows is still in hang condition after you enter the password, just directly shut down your PC by pressing the power button on your PC for some seconds until the PC is off.
Next step, wait it for minimally 10 seconds and then switch on the PC, and you will see the booting screen like what is presented by the image below, just choose “Safe Mode”.
Just wait for a moment, in the safe mode, the system only will load the important files which are needed to just ‘switch on’ the main performance of your PC. It doesn’t need a login with password like in normal mode. But the appearance will be so ‘bad’.
After you are successful in opening the desktop, you need to go to System Configuration by pressing the Windows+R button, and then you type “msconfig” on the run box or just enter the Command Prompt and type msconfig, you will later see the System Configuration box.
Then choose service tab
And then you will see all services which are done by the system when booting, and then checklist on the box “Hide all microsoft service”. After that, abolish all checklists on all remained services and after that, click apply.
Then you need to go into Startup tab, click on manufacture. Abolish all checklist on the list by clicking the “Disable all” option, and then checklist which is ONLY from Microsoft Corporation, and next is click the Apply option and OK.
The last one, erase the password on your Windows via Control Panel.
After that, choose Restart, and update your Windows service pack windows. After the Windows Service pack has been successfully updated, you can use your computer again without need to enter your password.
